Connect your domain

Your elentir.app address is great for getting live fast. When you’re ready to look fully your own, point a domain you already own, like yoursalon.com, at your site. One DNS record, then Elentir handles the rest, including the padlock.

This needs a paid plan

Custom domains unlock on any paid plan. On the free plan you’ll see a “Pro Feature” prompt with an option to Upgrade. Publish your site first (see Publish your website), you connect a domain to a site that’s already live.

Open the domain panel

1. Open the Publish panel on your site and click Configure Custom Domain.
2. Elentir opens your site’s Cloud view on the Domains section. You stay inside Elentir the whole time. Click Add domain.

3. Enter the domain you own and confirm it (use Change if you typed the wrong one).

4. The Verification panel shows the exact record to add, with two tabs, CNAME and A:

   For a root domain, the panel says it plainly: a CNAME at the root is only supported by certain DNS providers. If yours refuses it, switch to the A tab and add the A record instead. Both work; the panel shows the same values you see here.

5. Add the record at your domain registrar (where you bought the domain). Not sure where the buttons are? DNS at your registrar walks through the ten most common ones.
6. Back in the panel, click Verify. DNS changes usually spread within the hour, but the panel is honest about the worst case: it can take up to 48 hours to propagate fully. Verify again later if the first try fails.

Once your domain verifies, your site starts serving on it and SSL (the padlock) is set up for you automatically, nothing to buy or install. If the padlock is slow to appear, see SSL and “not secure” warnings.

If it didn’t work

• Verify keeps failing. The record has not spread yet, or a value does not match exactly. Compare against the panel character by character, check propagation at dnschecker.org, then try again later. It often clears on its own.
• You use Cloudflare. Set the record to DNS only (grey cloud, proxy off). A proxied record blocks verification because your domain is served through Elentir’s own network. The panel’s note calls this out too.
• “Pro Feature.” You’re on the free plan. Upgrade from Settings, then come back.
• The domain is already in use. It’s connected to another site. Remove it there first, or use a different domain.

Once it’s verified, your site’s main address becomes your own domain. That’s your business, fully on the internet, under your name.
